OVERVIEW

At Presbyterian Living, dining is an important part of daily life, creating opportunities for connection, wellbeing, and community. Since 1998, Presbyterian Living has partnered with CCL Hospitality Group to support dining services across its communities.

As operational needs evolved, Ray Benegas, Vice President of Information Technology, worked with teams across the organization to create a more connected approach to managing dining while improving the overall experience for residents, families, and guests.

To support that work, CCL Hospitality Group brought dine.os to Presbyterian Living – our connected dining technology solution that brings resident profiles, menu planning, production forecasting, ordering, reservations, service tools, and reporting into one platform.

Ray Benegas, Vice President of Information Technology at Presbyterian Living, shares how partnering with CCL Hospitality Group to implement dine.os created a more connected dining experience for residents, families, and staff.
OPPORTUNITY

Before implementing dine.os, dining teams at Presbyterian Living relied on multiple IT systems to manage daily dining operations. Information needed for menu updates, production planning, and resident dietary preferences was spread across different platforms.

Keeping everything aligned often meant updating the same information more than once. Menu changes required recipes to be reprinted, production information to be updated, and reports to be pulled from multiple systems, adding extra steps to everyday work.

Presbyterian Living and CCL Hospitality Group set out to simplify that process by connecting those workflows into a single dining operations system.

The goal was to eliminate duplicate work, standardize daily processes, and give dining teams more time to focus on residents.

It’s transformed the way we’re watching dining and opened the door to a bigger picture of resident wellbeing.

SOLUTIONS

With dine.os in place, updating menus, recipes, and production information no longer requires changes across multiple systems. Information is entered once, keeping menus, production planning, and reporting aligned without duplicate or manual updates.

Kitchen teams know exactly what to prepare based on resident counts and dietary needs, while dietary preferences, restrictions, and allergy information flow directly from Presbyterian Living’s electronic health record. Every order is checked against a resident’s dietary record before reaching the kitchen, helping teams catch potential conflicts before a meal is prepared.

Food orders move straight from the dining room to the kitchen, so servers spend less time relaying special requests by hand and more time at the table with residents. Instead of waiting on a weekly report, managers can adjust production levels and inventory the same day a problem shows up.

Residents and families can review menus, nutrition information, and allergens before ordering through digital menus, self-service kiosks, or at their table. Whether they prefer digital tools or traditional table service, they can choose the dining experience that works best for them.

BENEFITS

What began as an effort to simplify dining operations also changed how Presbyterian Living manages dietary information, creating a stronger connection between resident needs and daily service.

The impact extended well beyond the kitchen.

With less time spent managing systems, dining teams were able to spend more time with residents while delivering exceptional hospitality. At the same time, residents quickly adopted digital reservations and ordering, while families could review dining information and support loved ones with dietary needs from anywhere.

We wanted technology to support a more seamless experience for residents, and dine.os helped make that possible.
