The state of senior living today
Demand for senior housing is predominantly driven by the large population of older Americans within the Baby Boomer generation.
According to recent reports from the U.S. Census Bureau, by 2030, all Baby Boomers will be over the age of 65, and one in every five people in the United States will be at retirement age. By 2035, there will be 78.0 million people 65 years or older compared to 76.4 million under the age of 28.
As a result, the industry is responding accordingly with new approaches to compete in this consumer-driven market and attract the rising generation of savvy residents.
