These individuals form the backbone of daily interactions and care for residents, emphasizing the crucial need for maintaining staffing consistency to ensure a seamless connection between residents and the team.

Critical to achieving this consistency is the strategic recruitment of individuals possessing the right skills for specific roles, coupled with robust on-the-job training and opportunities for professional advancement. The outcome is a dedicated and loyal staff, drawn not only to the job but committed to building a lasting career. Illustrating this commitment is Eric Wong, a distinguished professional who has played a pivotal role in the growth and innovation within the hospitality sector.

When did you start working at CCL Hospitality Group and what was your first position?

I began my 32-year journey with Compass Group, commencing in 1991 after graduating from Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management. Starting as the Assistant Director of Dining Services, I underwent comprehensive onboarding training and eventually joined the management team at Eliza Cathcart Health Center in Devon, PA.

What do you consider the most rewarding part of your job?

The most rewarding aspect of my role is the implementation of digital and technology solutions that positively impact residents and unit teams. As a former Dining Services Director, I take pride in contributing to the efficiency and service quality of in-unit teams, acknowledging the challenges faced by management teams in delivering a consistently exceptional experience for residents.

For anyone considering applying for a position at CCL Hospitality Group, what would you want them to know about working here?

There’s an abundance of opportunities within Compass Group. I consider my 32 years with the organization as a testament to the diverse career paths available. The scale and sectorization approach of Compass Group provide a myriad of options for team members to explore as their career goals or interests evolve. I always encourage individuals to find reassurance in the organization’s commitment to offering opportunities across business lines and roles.

Currently, I lead the Digital Hospitality strategy for CCL and oversee Technology Governance and the dineOS ecosystem of hardware and software solutions, encompassing responsibilities such as product commercialization strategy, innovation research, and solution discovery. My approach involves collaborating cross-functionally to develop growth plans, pricing strategies, and marketing for Compass Digital internal product portfolios. Additionally, I lead research efforts for new technology solutions and manage the technology governance process.

My role at CCL underscores their dedication to innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement. My journey within the organization stands as a testament to the dynamic and rewarding career opportunities available to team members across various facets of Compass Group’s operations.
